The Eccles Collection

12–23 November

Revisit British ceramics history with us at the preview of The Eccles Collection, a rare exhibition featuring around 100 works by some of Britain’s best makers of the past half century. Emmanuel Cooper, Alison Britton, John Maltby, Michael Casson – these are the influential ceramists who have shaped the craft as we know it today.

Please note: We’re organising this sale differently than a typical exhibition. Ceramics will be sold in one of two ways:

  • 23 of the most notable works will be for sale by sealed-bid auction. Buyers will have the chance to privately place bids via written form both at the preview and for the duration of the sale (12–23 November). Bids will also be accepted by phone or email. Contemporary Ceramics will provide guide prices (located in the description of the item on the website) to steer the bidding and notify the winning bidder in the week starting 25th of November.
  • The remaining works, however, will go on a first come, first served basis according to general sale (fixed prices). Buyers will be welcome to take these pieces with them when they leave.

The proceeds from all sales will benefit the Craft Pottery Charitable Trust, which helps create opportunity in the field of ceramics.
